वेतालपञ्चविंशतिका — {pañca-viṃśaḍtikā} f. a collection of 25 tales or fables told by a Vetāla or demon to king Vikramâditya (of which there are 5 recensions extant, one by Kshemêndra in his Bṛihat-kathā-mañjarī, one by Soma-deva in the Kathā-sarit-sāgara, and the other three by Jambhala-datta, Vallabha, and Śiva-dāsa##versions of these popular tales exist in Hindī, Tamil and Telugu, and almost every Hindū vernacular)
