दक्ष

प्रसिद्ध प्रजापति, ब्रह्मा के दस पुत्रों में प्रमुख, उनकी 27 पुत्रियों का विवाह चंद्रमा के साथ हुआ, जिनसे 27 नक्षत्र बने, और 13 पुत्रियों का विवाह कश्यप से हुआ, जिनसे देवता, राक्षस, मानव एवं पशुओं की उत्पत्ति हुई, एक बार दक्ष ने महान यज्ञ रचा, जिसमें शिव को छोड़ के बाकी सभी को निमंत्रित किया गया, फिर भी सती यज्ञ में पहुच गयी, किन्तु वहां निरादर होने पर अग्नि में स्वाहा हो गयी, जब शिव ने दाह की बात सुनी तो यज्ञ में पहुच कर, यज्ञ ध्वंस के दिया और दक्ष का वध कर दिया, बाद में देवताओं की प्रार्थना पर शिव ने दक्ष को पुनर्जीवित कर दिया, तब से शिव को यज्ञ में भाग मिलने लगा

the famous prajapati, the chief of the ten sons of brahma, married 27 of his daughters to the moon, who made 27 constellations, and 13 daughters were married to kashyapa, who originated with gods, demons, humans and animals, once by daksha. a great yagna was made, in which everyone except shiva was invited, yet sati reached the yagna, but when there was disrespect, she sacrificed in the fire, when shiva listened to the fire, reached the yajna, the yagna was destroyed. k killed and killed daksha, later shiva revived daksha on the prayers of the gods, since then shiva started participating in the yagna.
